Pair of Italian, Neoclassical Painted Panels

Description:

A pair of Italian, Neoclassical painted panels of two maidens on each panel holding objects which depict the arts. Swirls of acanthus leaves form the lower half of their forms. Bouquets of flowers rest above each head. Putti archers are playing in the boxed grisalle of one panel and instruments in the other.

Oil on canvas and on stretchers.
